Namsto Lake

In Tibetan, Namsto means 'Heavenly Lake' and the serene beauty should not be missed by anyone who travels to Tibet. Being the second largest saltwater lake in China only after Qinghai Lake, Namtso Lake is the biggest lake throughout Tibet. Meanwhile, it is the highest altitude saltwater lake in the world. Its purity and solemnity are symbols of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and it is considered one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Namsto is famous for its high altitude (4,720 meters) and vast area(1,961 square kilometers) and as a sacred Buddhist place with many Tibetans undertaking a yearly pilgrimage to make the 'Kora' around the lake.

The moment you arrive at the lake, the weariness of the long journey evaporates. Its stunning beauty is truly beyond your imagination. The water here is a crystal blue. Low clouds join the surface of the lake in the distance, creating an integrated, national hotel moscow. The soul of every visitor who has been here seems to be cleansed by the pure lake water. The experience that you had is absolutely different in comparison with any Beijing bus tours that you have joined before.

The plain by the lake is a natural pasture, but the grasses don’t look so flourish. There are many places of desertification. It is said that every summer, the flocks of ducks habitat here and breed.

The distant Mount Tunggula

I don’t dare to step forward and just take some photos along the lake and get back to the car.

“The Namsto Lake is like a precious stone that’s fallen from the sky to the new miyako hotel kyoto. It is very beautiful! I feel that I'm in a paradise now.”
“Now as I stand by the lake, it feels like I'm standing by the sea.” The scenery was wonderful. The feeling is similar when I stepped on the Great Wall for my first time during
great wall tour. It was amazing.
